IREM Foundation Golf Ball Drop Fundraiser September 13th at IREM Boston's Annual Golf Tournament!

Where: IREM Boston Chapter No. 4's 12th Annual Golf Tournament at Granite Links Golf Club, in Quincy, MA

When: Watch the Golf Ball Drop live from the driving range at Granite Links Golf Club at 6:30pm on Monday, September 13th, 2010

How to Play: Purchase a golf ball for $20.00 for your chance to WIN! Golf balls will be sold in advance of as well as on site at the Annual Golf Tournament. Need not be present to win.

Rules:

Win 50% of the proceeds if your ball goes in the hole on the driving range (first place). In the event more than one ball falls into the hole, the first place prize will be split.
If no ball falls into the hole, then 75% of the proceeds will go to the IREM Foundation and 25% will be awarded to the ball that is closest to the hole.
All proceeds go to the IREM Foundation including the Scholarship, Humanitarian, Internship, and Grant Programs. The IREM Foundation is a NON-PROFIT organization under IRS code 501(c)3. Donations are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Federal Tax ID # 36-2924251

Our Lanscape Contest is Back By Popular Demand!

The two different categories are based on location and budget. There are two groups within each category. They are as follows:

The IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4 is extremely proud to be bringing back the Landscape Contest! It has been a great success in the past and we look forward to exceeding previous years' participation. After all, it was YOU, the members of the Boston Chapter, who asked to have the contest revived. Past winners were tremendously proud to present an award to the owners of their properties. These awards signify that your property is one of the best in Massachusetts! So don't miss out on this great opportunity to display the hard work you and your staff have put into your properties!

We encourage all memebers of the Boston Chapter to submit three to six pictues of your property for review by the Honorary Judges. Please include a brief information sheet listing: Name, Address, Phone Number, Name of Property Manager, Management Company, and which category you choose to be entered in.
All pictures (no CD's please!) should be submitted to the IREM office, in care of Kelley Hannon no later than 9/6/10.

We will be announcing the winners at the IP IREM Professional Networking Event/Landscape Contest Awards Night. There will be one winner in each category and two honorable mentions. All winners will receive an award certificate. Awards will be held at Paddy's American Grill, 27 International Drive, Portsmouth, NH, 03801.

The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Hosts 11th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament at a Top 100 Course September 13

IREM National President to Attend Granite Links Golf Club Tourney

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Boston Chapter of The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) is hosting it's 11th annual golf tournament on September 13th at the Granite Links Golf Club, rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 100 courses in the country. IREM National President Randy Woodbury, who was elected 2010 president exactly 50 years after his grandfather served in the same post, will be on hand that day. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will benefit the IREM Foundation, a nonprofit educational organization which has, among other programs, helped retrain military veterans for real estate management careers.

"We are so pleased to host this great event at one of the premiere golf courses in the country," says IREM Boston Chapter No. 4 President Rob Crowley, CPM. "And this year is especially meaningful because National President Randy Woodbury will be joining us for what promises to be a great day of golf to benefit our educational programs.

The Institute of Real Estate Manangement (IREM) Foundation was established in 1977 as a 501c3 public organization and promotes the highest professional standards and supports educational programs for those interested in pursuing careers in the field of real estate management. Among its latest outreach programs has been an initiative to attract and retain returning U.S. military veterans and offer them a certified training course about all aspects of managing residential properties, includign affordable and student housing. The course prepares them with the necessary skills to work as residentail site managers, leasing agents, and assistant property managers.

The September 13th tournament is a Florida scramble and includes lunch, golf cart, golf clinic, dinner, raffles, silent auction, networking reception, and a vendor expo booth. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a 1p.m. shotgun start. In addition to the golf tournament, IREM is hosting a golf clinic for beginner golfers. Spouses, friends, family members, or significant others are invited to register for the clinic, which is also being held at Granite Links Golf Club. The golf clinic will be taught by a Granite Links Club professional and will include instruction on basic techniques and fundamentals. Clinic and dinner fee is $89. There are also sponsoring opportunities as well as the chance to participate in the IREM Boston Chapter No. 4 Vendor Expo, although space is very limited. Boston Metropolitan Chapter of IREM Earns High Honors

Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4 of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®), one of 92 IREM chapters worldwide, received high honors in IREM’s Chapter Star Recognition Program. The Chapter Star Recognition Program recognizes IREM chapters for providing valuable member services and programs. The program awards points for specific activities based on criteria that define effective, successful chapters; some activities are required, others are elective. Then, based on total points earned, chapters can achieve One, Two, Three, Four, or Five Star Status. The Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4 was recognized for a variety of initiatives it undertook in 2009, including: · Sponsoring IREM Education · Supporting IREM Foundation and Toy for Tots· Participating New England Building Facility Management Show · Co-sponsoring Going Green, OSHA Training and Energy Conservation Seminar · Providing leadership training in support of chapter and industry-wide goals.
The Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4, serving Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire, was founded in 1938. The growth of the Chapter over the past seventy years has paralleled the expansion of the real estate industry and the property management profession.
Over the years, the Chapter has nurtured and promoted the founding and forming of three Chapters. These are: Chapter #51 – serving the State of Connecticut-Chapter #88 – serving the State of Rhode Island as a result of these newly formed Chapters, the Chapter identification was changed in 1977 to Boston Metropolitan Chapter #4. During 1987 and 1988, the Boston Chapter actively pursued and promoted the Alpha Committee comprising Chapter members from the States of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
The Boston Chapter has maintained continued interest in the progress of these Chapters by holding joint meetings, sponsorship of regional meetings, and avoiding educational conflicts. Since the Chapter’s founding, the Chapter has grown steadily and continuously in spite of the loss of membership to the founding of the new chapters.
The growth of the Chapter has progressed over the years due to intensive committee service; cooperative and strong liaison with related professional groups; with government agencies; and strong involvement in the community. This has indeed spelled out the formula for success and continued membership expansion.
The Chapter has established DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARDS, which serve to honor prominent individuals in the community and profession. It has established a "CPM of the Year", ARM of the Year CANDIDATE of the Year, Student of the Year, Associate member of the Years and Friend of IREM® of the Year Awards, for which nominations are solicited by the general membership. In addition, a Special Recognition Award/s is also given at the discretion of the Past President’s Committee.
